10.07.08 - Candice Mentions Melina

In Candice's latest "Defining Beauty" blog, She briefly mentions Melina and her injury. Here's what it reads:

"My best wishes go out to Melina for her recent injury. I don’t wish this journey on my worst enemy. It was nothing less than brutal. A true fighter will survive, and I don’t see her giving up!"

09.07.08 - Randomness.

Well, there's no news on Melina, so updates are slim right now. But I'm excited for her Summer Skin! How about you? Melina's SS photos premiere at the first of the month, and if hers is anything like the others so far, they are going to be gorgeous!

There is one update on Melina from John Hennigan[Morrison] letting us know how Mel is doing and what exactly happened. Here's what he wrote;

So aside from that here's what's really on my mind. The most talented Diva in WWE was injured last week on the Monday Night RAW Draft show. In case you don't know I'm talking about Melina.

Melina fractured her calcaneus bone (heel bone) in three places. Three days ago, she had surgery to put everything in her foot back where it's supposed to be… and knowing her, she's gonna need it to kick ass when she comes back. After some screws and a titanium plate Melina was released with a good prognosis. She's in exceptionally good spirits for someone who's going to be in a cast for the next few months.

Read full blog

Well, it's extremely nice to know Mel's not letting her injury bring her down! Power to her for that. I'm just hoping she makes a nice recovery and can make an awesome return when she's ready. I really do mean when she is ready. She shouldn't come back and in one match injure herself again like Candice Michelle did with her collar bone. Mel is one of the best and it's hard to see her away from WWE. Mickie needed her so Kelly Kelly[or Jelly Jelly] wouldn't be on RAW. Bad move, imo, but that's another topic. lol. So, I just thought I'd post this. Thanks for reading.

03.07.08 - Melina's Injury Update

According to WWE.com, Melina’s recent ankle injury may take her out of action for up to 5 months. WWE.com spoke to her exclusively, and she gave her thoughts on her recent setback:

Last week, two-time WWE Women’s Champion Melina broke her heel when she took a hard fall during an inter-promotional Divas tag team match, becoming the latest Raw Diva to have her career put on hold. Melina talked exclusively with WWE.com about her injury.

“My spirits are good. I was upset I was unable to finish the match the way I wanted to. I felt like I let Mickie down and I let the fans down,” said an contemplative Melina. “I’m sad that I’m unable to do anything at the moment. Things happen for a reason, I suppose.”

Melina and WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James were in a heated contest with SmackDown Divas Victoria and Natalya when she landed awkwardly. The two-time champion quickly grabbed her ankle and grimaced in pain. Now, the Diva will be out of action for up to five months.

“I didn’t think I was going to get hurt. I thought I was going to get up from [the injury]. When you’re wrestling you don’t feel it, because your adrenaline is rushing. I tried to get up, but I couldn’t,” Melina recalled about the moment incident occurred.

Melina said that since “being betrayed by her former friends Beth Phoenix, Jillian and Victoria” she’s being more cautious about who becomes part of her inner-circle. However, Melina feels Mickie James has proven to be a valuable addition to her life.

“I’ve always been someone who could fight and stand up for myself, but this was a time where I was vulnerable. She gave up her own body to protect me in my moment of weakness,” Melina said about the current Women’s Champion. “Despite our differences in the past, we have learned to move forward and continue to build our friendship. I thank her for that.”

An injury for any Superstar or Diva can present a difficult challenge in their career. Having a strong support system is vital to a speedy recovery. Melina understands this and has a special message for her fans.

“Thank you all for all your support and all your well wishes. It really touches my heart. Throughout my years with WWE I’ve really done my best to give them everything that I’ve got. I appreciate them for respecting what I do.”

And for those who doubt that the former WWE Women’s Champion will return to Diva glory … think again.

“I’ve been doing this for a few years and been going strong. There’s no way I’m going to stop. When I come back, I don’t want to be the same Melina I was before. I want to give Raw an even better and improved Melina — a Melina who’s more determined and focused.”

23.06.08 - RAW Results

In-ring: Justin Roberts announced the next match as an interviewer-only draft match. That includes play-by-play men, interviewers, and anyone who holds a mic. Melina then came out first representing Raw. Mickie James bounced out wearing blue jean pants and jacket. Awkward moment with the cameraman panning the announcers ringside. Cole looked frustrated. Natalya and Victoria then came out representing Smackdown. Cole got twisted up on what would happen if which team wins.

Women's champion MICKIE JAMES & MELINA vs. NATALYA & VICTORIA

All six men apparently on commentary for this one. This turned into gang-up on Adamle time. Cole hyped the high-school yearbook feature on WWE's website. Melina and Victoria battled up top, then Victoria shoved her off the top rope and Melina crashed down on her ankle. Mickie checked on Melina, who clutched her right ankle in pain. Suddenly, a brawl broke out to kinda end the match. Referee didn't make a call, then Mickie covered up Melina to prevent the heel divas from beating on her further. Roberts announced a Double DQ with each brand picking up a Draft pick.
WINNERS: Double DQ in 3:00

The draft following this contest was open only to ring announcers, commentators and backstage interviewers, but when Melina suffered a severe ankle sprain and the match ended in a double-disqualification, both Raw and SmackDown received draft picks.

It is time for a ‘Summer Time Beach Bikini Blowout’ as Maria comes out. She is followed by Eve. We go to commercial.

We are back and more women in robes have entered the ring. Charlie Haas is in there too to be the master of ceremonies. We see footage of Charlie Haas kissing Maria followed by Mae Young to give a fan an extra $50,000.

Back to live action and Charlie says that is not entertaining at all, but this is. Charlie says that each Diva has fifteen seconds to model their bikinis. Then the crowd will judge who is wearing the cutest bikini. Melina goes first followed by Maryse. Lena Yada is the next to show off her bikini, followed by Leyla. Jillian says that she did not come out to model her bikini, but she came out to sing. Jillian has her mic taken away by Charlie and she returns to the line. Eve shows her bikini, followed by the final one, Maria. The winner is apparently Maria, according to the fans.

10.06.08 - RAW Results and With McMahon's Millon

Ross and Lawler debated the merits of the Cena/Mickie relationship that's the talk of the locker room while Beth worked over Mickie to start things off. Password for McMoney is still WWE Universe. Mickie came back with a double-foot dropkick to the face for a nearfall at 2:00. Mickie then went up top and landed a Thesz Press into a pin for the win.

Post-match: Beth tried to sneak attack Mickie, but Melina jumped into the ring for revenge on Beth. Melina took Beth face-first into the mat, then she stared down Beth and left the ring. Beth was super-mad afterward and made a mean face toward Melina.
WINNER: Mickie James in 3:00

"McMahon's Million Dollar Mania" sweepstakes has everybody's head spinning about the possiblity of winning the "Mon-ayy." WWE.com caught up with your favorite Superstars to ask them what they would do if they won the $1 million for themselves. Though unfortunately for them, and us, WWE employees aren't eligible to enter and win Mr. McMahon's money.
Melina says:
"It’s always a nice thing to know that you’re financially secure, set for life. That would be the first thing. In wrestling, who knows what’s going to happen? Maybe my knee is going to blow out, or my neck’s gonna snap. You never know. It would be good to have money to invest in case I need to retire. Also, if I could, I'd want to invest money to open a hospital for women and men with eating disorders. I'd invest it in something that would make me feel like I am contributing to society."

Hey guys! Guess what? We are backk! Marie and I are working as hard as we can to get everything done in the new gallery. We have posted alot of Mel's photo shoots, but not all because they all aren't coming up correctly. I have made a temp banner for now. I'm going to let you know when everythings up in the gallery and I'll be posting tons of old and new digitals and shoots. So, here's the results for the past few days . . .

ONE NIGHT STAND RESULTS

Beth Phoenix walked out first for the I Quit match. Melina then walked out and one of the paparazzi photographers tripped over himself walking backward to snap photos of Melina. Melina patted him on the head as he sheepishly recovered to a crouching position. Once Melina entered the ring, Beth tried not to bust up laughing looking at her. We're off to an inauspicious start tonight.

BETH PHOENIX vs. MELINA -- I Quit match

Beth dominated early on, then Melina came back with a Muta Lock, but Beth moved the hold to the ropes for a rope break after refusing to tap out. Ross with the line of the night that Beth is as reluctant to say "I quit" as Lawler is to say "I do." Six minutes in, Beth continued to rip apart Melina without picking up the necessary submission. Melina came back with a single-arm DDT focusing on the shoulder before Melina slapped on a Fujiwara armbar. Melina then rolled it into a cross arm-breaker, but Beth showed off her strength by taking Melina into mid-air from the arm-breaker position into a big powerbomb. Beth then put Melina in a seated chicken wing that bent Melina's sternum outward into a very uncomfortable position. Melina eventually gave up, giving Beth the win.
WINNER: Beth Phoenix in 10:00

MONDAY NIGHT RAW - 6.2.08

Beth Phoenix walked out on stage and stared at the money while Lillian Garcia announced a divas tag match. The announcers hyped Beth's sick-looking submission move on Melina to win the I Quit match last night. Katie Lea then came out as her tag partner. Melina walked out first for the babyface team, and she was holding her back in pain. Mickie James then bounced out to the ring and encouraged Melina to get in the ring, but Melina was more interested in an ice bath than wrestling.

BETH PHOENIX & KATIE LEA vs. Women's champion MICKIE JAMES & MELINA

The announcers, apparently forgetting the brutal Lea & Burchill handicap match against Super Crazy on TV a few weeks ago, said this is their first look at Katie in the ring on Raw. The heels worked on Mickie to start things off while Melina paced the ring apron. Melina then screamed at Mickie for a tag and Mickie obliged. Melina came in hotter than a Texas summer night and tackled Beth to the outside. Mickie eventually had to pull Mickie off Beth, then Melina tried to get herself some more, but Beth landed a sick clothesline on the floor that took the air out of the building. Back in the ring, Melina made a hot tag to Mickie, who landed a snap neckbreaker on Katie. Mickie then went up top and landed a Thesz Press before trying her spike DDT finisher. Katie blocked, though, and Beth smashed Mickie into the mat behind the ref's back. Katie then scored a pin for the win.
WINNERS: Beth & Katie in 4:00

27.05.08 - New Shoot; Brown Out

What have we done to deserve this? lol. WWE.com have treated us with yet another smokin' hot photoshoot of Melina. The photoshoot is entitled Brown Out in which she is wearing the outfit that she wore during the Divas Lumberjack match where she hit Beth with her boot. She looks amazing!

I'm having trouble getting the photo to look right when posted, so until i get it right the shoot won't be posted.

27.05.08 - One Night Stand Match Added

Melina vs. Beth Phoenix ("I Quit" Match)

Though Beth Phoenix and Melina were once allies, things have taken a wrong turn in the pair’s relationship. Both women have felt betrayed by the other’s actions, and plan on settling things this Sunday night at One Night Stand. It won’t be as simple as one woman pinning the other however, as this is an “I Quit” Match, in which one Diva must force the other to speak those dreaded words into a microphone in front of a pay-per-view audience.

The two’s rivalry began about a month ago, when Melina caused Beth Phoenix to lose her Women’s Championship match against Mickie James by accidentally hitting Phoenix with her boot. Unfortunately for Melina, The Glamazon isn’t known for her forgiving nature, but rather her raw power and ferocity. To no one’s surprise, the following weeks saw Beth retaliating against Melina, smashing her repeatedly into a set of steel lockers, and brutalizing her after a match with Jillian.

Both women are known for their in-ring ability, but it’s their pride that will come into play this weekend at One Night Stand. Beth Phoenix has been one of the most dominant Divas in WWE history, can Melina force her to say "I Quit"? When it could irreparably damage not only their ego, but also their career, which of these Divas will be the first to concede?

To see this and more Extreme Rules match-ups, be sure to tune into One Night Stand, airing this Sunday at 8/7 CT, live on pay-per-view!

27.05.08 - RAW Results

Ross plugged an I Quit match between Beth Phoenix and Melina at the PPV on Sunday. Beth Phoenix then joined Ross and Lawler ringside for commentary. Jillian Hall was in the ring to sign Vince's "No Chance in Hell" entrance music to describe Melina's chances against Beth on Sunday. Melina's music finally interrupted the botchery and Melina walked out to face Jillian.

MELINA vs. JILLIAN HALL

Jillian tackled Melina in center ring and went to work on her early on. Melina came back with a dropkick while Beth said she's going to make Melina scream I quit at the PPV. Melina countered a pin attempt into the Muta Lock on Jillian, who fought the hold for a few seconds before tapping out.
WINNER: Melina in 2:00

20.05.08 - RAW Results

In-ring: After a video package aired on Beth's double backbreaker last night, Melina walked out to the ring. She did her split ring entrance on the announce table and Ross pulled out his handkerchief to cool himself down. Melina joined them on commentary before Beth Phoenix came to the ring for a match. Maria came out as the opponent.

MARIA vs. BETH PHOENIX

Melina and Lawler talked about Playboy, and Melina left the door open for Lawler to convince her to pose. Beth dominated the match, then applied a stretch submission with Maria's shoulders pulled back away from her chest. Maria tapped out, giving Beth the submission win. Afterward, Beth stared down Maria, then she left the ring. Suddenly, Melina stormed the ramp and attacked Beth from behind. Beth recovered and gave Melina a hard slam on the ramp. Melina recovered while refs held Beth back from inflicting further damage. Fans ringside chanted, "Let them fight" as they closed the segment.

19.05.08 - Judgement Day Results

Lillian Garcia handled the formal ring intros with Beth getting all boos. Melina had pretty much all boos. Mickie had all cheers. Ross said the match is first pin wins. The bell sounded and Beth held open the ropes. She told Melina to get out of her ring right now. Melina asked if that's so, then she walked over to Beth and kicked her in the gut to send Beth to the floor. Quick start, with Mickie following up with a roll up on Melina for a nearfall. Beth then yanked Mickie to the floor and nailed a hard clothesline. Back in the ring, Melina and Beth went at it. Mickie came back with a top rope splash on Beth for a nearfall, then a double-foot dropkick to the mush.

At 4:00, Beth grappled both Mickie and Melina in the corner. She set up this awesome-looking backbreaker with Mickie stacked on top of Melina on her shoulders. Looked awesome, but Beth didn't really do much with it, then everyone collapsed to the mat. Beth recovered and grabbed Mickie around the throat, but Melina took out Beth from behind with a neckbreaker. Beth rolled away, then Mickie dropped Melina with a DDT for the pin and the win to retain the belt.
WINNER: Mickie in 5:00 to retain the Women's Title

15.05.08 - New Shoot

New Shoot! Wow! What can I say but Mel looks absolutely wonderful!

15.05.08 - Judgement Day Match Announced

Melina vs Mickie vs Beth - Womans Championship

As first learned in a Joey Styles Exclusive video on WWE.com, Women’s Champion Mickie James will defend her title against both Beth Phoenix and Melina in a Triple Threat Match at Judgment Day. Melina and The Glamazon have been after Mickie’s title since she earned it when she pinned Beth on Raw. Neither one has found a way to stop the Women’s Champion, though. In fact, their common desire to hold the Divas’ top prize has caused a lack of success on their part.

One week prior to the night the match was made, Melina allegedly accidentally hit Beth with a boot. Tensions between the two Divas only escalated afterward, as The Glamazon abandoned Melina when they teamed up to take on Mickie & Maria on Raw. The ensuing confrontation in the locker room led to an all-out brawl that required three people to break it up.Beth and Melina have not been able to work together toward a common goal, to date. It’s clear that it's every Diva for herself when Mickie aims to continue her recent run of success and retain her gold at Judgment Day.

12.o5.o8 - RAW Results

Coming back from commercial, it was playing a re-cap of last week. Melina intered, then Beth, Maria and then Mickie herself. Maria started the match with a gut-buster to Melina. Mickie was tagged into the match. Mickie did a drop kick to Melina, Beth breaking up the count. Melina was thrown into Beth and she didnt look happy about it. Beth walked off as Mickie did a neckbreaker on Melina and got the 3 count.

Backstage, we see Melina with ice on her neck and talking to Jillian. Beth walks up and they argue and Beth says she hit her with her boot because she knows she can beat Mickie easier than Beth. Melina then drops her ice and attacks, but Beth counters and beats down on Melina. Officials had to break up the fight.

Thank You Torrie Wilson!

After WWE guaranted Torrie a promotional contract, I guess they changed their minds. Today Torrie got fired for unknown reasons. We understand Torrie was in-active WWE, but she wanted to still be working within the company. WWE what have you done?

Me and Marie would like to thank Torrie for all the entertaining she provided us for over 7 years.

Thank You Torrie! We Love You!

o8.o5.o8 - Daily Diva

Melina is today's Daily Diva. The Photo used was an outtake from her Cinco de Mayo shoot.

o5.o5.o8 - RAW Results

Tonight on Raw Mickie faced Beth in a Diva Lumber Jill match for the woman’s title. The ring was already surrounded by the divas when the match was announced by Lillian. Ashley and Maria covered one side of the ring while the other divas were scattered around the other sides. In the middle of the match Jillian grabbed Mickie's leg to trip her. Suddenly all the divas started to attack each other. Ashley fought with Layla, Jillian and Natalya mostly, and then a commercial break took place. Towards the end of the match Beth was thrown out of the ring to where Ashley and Maria were. They went to throw her back in the ring but Beth pushed Ashley to the floor and drug Maria in the ring by the hair. Melina was about to hit Mickie on the head with her shoe but Mickie ducked and she ended up hitting Beth. Mickie then rolled up Beth for the three count. Mickie, Ashley and the other face divas walked up the ramp together celebrating.

o5.o5.o8 - Cinco de Mayo; New Shoot

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone! As a woman of Mexican heritage, Melina has done her part to celebrate her Mexican pride and heritage by posing for a whopping 26 photos in varying Mexican attire.

Photos will be posted with RAW digitals later.

30.o4.o8 - New Shoot

WWE.com has posted a new shoot of Melina entitled Purple Passion. I love this shoot and Melina looks great!

28.o4.o8 - RAW Results

Tonight on Raw Ashley, Mickie, Michelle, Kelly, Cherry and Maria faced Beth, Victoria, Natalya, Melina, Jillian and Layla in a backlash 12 diva tag match rematch. In the beginning of the match all the divas went at each other which led to some fighting on the outside. Kelly was left in the ring to be attacked by Beth. After she finally got free she tagged Mickie who picked up the match. She then pinned Jillian for the three count.

27.o4.o8 - Backlash Results

Michelle started things off against Beth. Lawler plugged Michelle being the number search item on Yahoo yesterday, ahead of the NFL Draft. Someone got information off the Torch News Ticker. Mickie entered the ring and avoided Victoria's shimmy moonsault and nailed an enziguiri kick. Suddenly, the whole deal broke down when Cherry ran over to the heel corner and attacked Natalya. Order was momentarily restored, then Ashley and Jillian took tags. I have no idea what's going on with Ashley's outfit. The heels then took turns working over Ashley in their corner. Mickie came into the ring without a tag, then women randomly entered the ring illegally. It wasn't even a break down, just one diva giving a move, then another diva getting a move, then another diva getting a move, then another diva getting a move. Just completely random. And it came back down to Beth and Ashley, who were legal. Beth with the big fisherman buster suplex on Ashley for the pin and the win.
WINNERS: Team Beth in 7:00

26.o4.o8 - Internet Confessions #12

Last year at Backlash, I had one of the most competitive matches of my career for the Women's Championship against Mickie James. We fought tooth and nail for that title! We are wrestlers! We work so hard and put ourselves on the line for the highest honor to hold ... the Women's Championship.

One year later, bravo to Mickie James for regaining the championship. A win is a win. I give it to her. But my anger is not at her championship win. I'm upset because I feel that these girls who gave Mickie the party do not take wrestling and what we do seriously. I am still in awe that these girls threw a little party to celebrate Mickie's championship win. They just did it for attention! Come on people!!!! So they can get dressed up and prance around. Don't any of these women want the championship?

Every girl who hugged Mickie saying congratulations was hugging her thinking, "I want that championship, and I am going to take it from you." Well, I hope they did because it's a normal thing to think if you are a true competitor. If none of those girls had that thought cross their mind, they shouldn't even call themselves wrestlers.

Why train so hard and learn our craft just to throw a party for someone else? SERIOUSLY! Not that I wouldn't throw a party for my best friend when she accomplished her goal, but I would celebrate that day ... that moment when that night was hers and hers alone. Not throw a party a week later on Raw and take up TV time that could have gone to a No. 1 Contender Match for the Women's Championship!

OK, now that I think about it, I'm glad they weren't celebrating another bunny moment. Finally the championship is getting recognition, but still! The bunnies and wannabe bunnies do not realize ... to hard working wrestlers who put everything they have into what we do, the championship is EVERYTHING.

I will shake Mickie's hand and say congratulations, but I'm blunt and honest. I will tell her straight out I'm coming for that title. Why become a wrestler if you aren't going to compete to be the best you can? I enter that ring to fight for myself. Fight for what I believe in. I believe in this art form that I have trained and studied to be the best I can in. Listen to me carefully. If you are not wrestling to be the Women's Champion, then you shouldn't step foot in a ring. YOU SHOULDN'T BE WRESTLING! You should do hair or whatever Santino Marella said, "Be in the kitchen making spaghetti."

Beth Phoenix has her own views on this matter. I believe she lost it and that was her own fault. Maybe she will get it back; maybe she won't. I know there are others who want that glorious title, including myself. I stand beside her to make the point that the squared circle isn't for little girls to play in. It's for the big boys and the women who will FIGHT for the honor of being a champion.

I will always be true to my heart. I am going to give my all to everything that I do, especially in wrestling. Every time I step into that ring I will put up a serious fight. There will be no holding back. I know every single person who watches me in the ring knows that. But believe me, whether I win or lose, I'm going to give that other person a run for their money and really make them earn that win. If I were to lose, that wouldn't be the last time my opponent would see my face. I will be back. I will be stronger and faster and I will beat them. I will never back down. I love wrestling too much.

This Sunday, I will be in a 12-Diva Tag Team Match at Backlash. I will make my point in the ring. But what I want ... what I want is the Women's Championship. If I have to fight every Diva on the entire WWE roster, so be it. The Women's Championship WILL be mine again. It's just a matter of time.

The Most Dominant Diva in the WWE,
Melina

22.o4.o8 - RAW Results

To celebrate Mickie James’ emotional Women’s Title win last week, a host of Divas, including Maria, Ashley, Michelle McCool, Cherry and Kelly Kelly, summoned the new champion to the ring. But all the merriment proved too much for Beth Phoenix to bear. Accompanied by Melina, Jillian, Victoria, Layla and Natalya Neidhart, the former champion confronted her adversaries and told them their celebration was a slap in the face. That’s when McCool demonstrated to The Glamazon what a real slap in the face feels like. After that, all bets were off as the beauties turned beastly in a Diva free for all, with WWE’s favorite femme fatales standing tall.

Remembering Ric Flair's career
Woooooo!
It’s no secret that my favorite female wrestler/manager/entertainer is Sherri Martel. She is a woman that I love and cherish. I look at what she has accomplished and what I saw when I watched her work. She simply was the complete package. She was one of a kind; original, strong and larger than life.

Amongst the men, there is a single man who fits that mold for me. I looked forward to watching him no matter what he did. He is an incredible man that will stand alone in wrestling. So unique and captivating. He is the one, the only, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

Ric Flair is beyond the complete package. There are people in this world that are amazing when it comes to mic skills, are incredible wrestlers or just have a phenomenal look. Ric Flair has all of the above and then some.

f you didn’t see the Hall of Fame ceremony, you need to see it for Ric’s induction. The man you see that is so passionate, caring, loving and thankful… That’s THE MAN. That is Ric Flair. He is THAT incredible of a person.

In the ring, in the locker room, on the mic or wherever he was, he sucked you in no matter what he did and made you FEEL. To be able to touch an audience emotionally and connect with them is an incredible thing and not just anyone can do it.

Some people have IT and some people just don’t. IT is something you just are. You can’t learn it. You can’t work up to it or buy it. Ric has that IT factor. He has presence like no other. He is extremely charming and charismatic. OH MY GOODNESS! The man is oozing with IT.

Just watch him. You will know what he is feeling or feel it when you look at his face, or hear his voice or his giggle. The man commands attention without trying and he is just the sweetest, most fun-loving person you will ever meet. One that stands up for what he feels and believes in.

Ric Flair is SO incredibly entertaining; very creative and very visual. I love his entrance, the music, the clothes/gear, his facial expressions, the things he says, his intensity and his passion. He is in a category all his own. No one can ever touch what he has done and his contributution to sports-entertainment.

The man never claimed to be an angel. He took some paths along the way that I’m sure he wished he didn’t go down. We all have. And through everything, Ric always has the greatest of intentions. He lives life to the fullest and has fun. He never fails to make everyone around him smile.

Each person has their path to walk in this life and Flair strut down his path like no one ever could. Right or wrong, whatever happened in Flair’s life is just what was meant to happen. I wouldn’t want him to be any different than the man he is today.

Every wrestler goes through tough times. There are so many obstacles and life-changing moments in a person’s wrestling career - having to fight for your existence in wrestling, earning your spot, being original, people wanting you to fail, travel headaches, money situations, family and love while you have to be gone on trips all the time. It’s not easy. Sometimes a person has to struggle and fight to be strong through all this, while at the same time you're trying to find yourself or hold on to who you are.

Through all the hardships and negativity ... through all this time ... Ric Flair has shined like no other. No one can entertain the crowd like he can. He didn’t need all this hype and commercialism that they do for people nowadays to get you to like him. It was all Flair. It’s him. It’s everything he is and does that you respect and you are drawn to. The people love him and will continue to stand by him. He did it by being himself, having fun and loving what he does. He simply is naturally great at it.

I really hope I worded everything correctly in this blog. I still feel like I haven’t said enough about what a great guy and what an incredible entertainer Ric is. No one can replace or come close to what he is and what he has done. Triple H was right in saying the "Nature Boy" deserves his own wing in the WWE Hall of Fame. He is the brightest star and is in a category of his own.

No matter how much I write, this blog will never say how much love, admiration and respect I have for Ric Flair. I can’t thank him enough for what he has done for me and for this business.

I always loved the line, “To be the man, you have to beat the man.” Ric Flair, you are a legend. An icon. You are THE MAN!

With so much love for you and your family,
Melina

07.04.08 - RAW Results

Ross: "Ashley always has (pause) interesting combat attire." Yes, that's one way to put it. A lot of action to start with, then after the action broke down, Mickie finished off Melina with the lift-up DDT for the pin and the win.

WINNER: Mickie in 3:00. Nice seeing Mickie back in a strong position on TV. She should have been in the Mania picture, but that's neither here nor there.

Thoughts regarding BunnyMania
You have to understand, I may not write very frequently, but you know that when I do write something it’s what I feel with my heart and it’s what I strongly believe. I am very passionate in everything that I do. My writing, my workouts, my entrance, my wrestling and in love. That is me. When you see me, you are going to get just that: MELINA. I will continue to say, whether you love me or hate me, you can’t help but watch me!

My message about Playboy is ... if you want to do it, that’s fine. If that is your dream, your goal and your personal achievement for YOUR life, that’s fine. Just know, that isn’t mine. I am a physical person, so it makes perfect sense for me to choose wrestling. I am a woman of action and never want to be one of those women in distress, if I can help it.

I have trained for eight years and I continue to train to better myself in this physical art form that I love with all my heart. And I will fight for it and work hard to be great at it with everything I have.

Last year, Playboy got more recognition than the Women’s Championship. Winning the Women’s Title has been my dream since I stepped foot in a ring. Think of the great women who fought for that championship. That title means a great deal to me. Why take a step into that ring unless you are working toward being the one on top ... getting better than when you last stepped in there?

Sorry if I’m competitive, but geez! No one goes into the Olympics just to look nice or to just be seen there. You compete to be the best in the world! So my point is plain and simple. That WWE ring is meant for people to get down to the nitty gritty and to get right down to business.

Don’t get in my face about how many magazine covers you have been on, because I really don’t care. If that was my goal, I wouldn’t be in wrestling; I’d still be modeling right now. I left that because I found where I belong ... what drives me and what moves me.

Granted, BunnyMania brought in Snoop Dogg, but we all know Snoop came because it's WrestleMania. WRESTLEMania. So my game plan was to do just that. The one big day we wait for all year where everyone around the world comes to see us go all out ... to do more and be greater than we have ever been.

Now Let me tell you something. I went out that curtain with Beth Phoenix and Santino Marella sharing a common goal. I wanted to make a point and teach the “Bunnies” a lesson. Those lil' girls, they kind of impressed me that night. Well, they never had a chance. They had to have known that! But they kept going. They tried. They kept fighting. Even though I may not like them all that much, I give them credit for not giving up. 'Cause God knows I have beaten Maria and Ashley SO many times. And that night, they still tried.

You may hate me and think I have a horrible attitude, but you want to know something? You may hate me for beating up on Divas such as Maria and Ashley, but remember, this isn’t ballet. Each time these girls get in the ring, I make them want this. I make them work! I make them a little bit tougher and I make them a little bit better for the next time they step into the ring. Sure, they will NEVER be me, but if it wasn’t for me giving them a good old fashioned @ss whoopin’, they will never come back to do their personal best.

You may have your personal opinions on me ... but face it ... those girls NEED me!

The Most Dominant Diva in Wrestling,

April 1st, 2008 - RAW Restults

Maria begged her former boyfriend, Santino Marella, to call off their Anything Goes Match on Raw. But her former beau refused, saying he thought Divas belonged in the kitchen, not in the ring. Bad idea, buddy!

A cadre of Divas – Ashley, Victoria, Mickie James, Jillian, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly and Melina – all attacked Santino during the match, aiding Maria. They slammed him to the mat and held him down, allowing Maria to crush Marella’s “grapefruits” with a booming head butt. She rolled up the wounded Italian for an easy 1-2-3 as the Divas celebrated her victory.

And with Beth Phoenix & Melina topping Maria & Ashley in their BunnyMania Lumberjack Match at WrestleMania, who will rise up from the Divas division to challenge the powerful Glamazon and make a move on her cherished title?

March 30, 2008 - Wrestlemania "Bunnymania" Results

BETH PHOENIX & MELINA vs. MARIA & ASHLEY -- BunnyMania match

Ashley busted out a huracanrana and head scissors at various points in the match. Didn't look half-bad. Melina then catapulted Ashley into Beth's arms for a bear hug. Suddenly the lights went off and Lawler asked if The Undertaker just arrived. The action continued in the ring while the lights shut off. A spotlight came on above the ring to give a little light. This gives new meaning to the "dark match" term. Maria had a pin on Melina, but Santino yanked Maria off the pin. Jerry Lawler then came over and smashed Santino with a right hand blow. Back in the ring, Beth gave Maria the fisherman buster suplex for the pin and the win.

After the match, Santino stood over Maria's body and taunted her. Snoop then jumped into the ring and smashed Santino with a clothesline. Santino left, then Snoop picked up Maria and had a brief make-out session. Ashley and Maria left with Snoop while Santino had to be restrained.

WINNERS: Beth & Melina in 6:00. Actually not that bad of a match other than the lights being knocked out.

March 28, 2008 - WWE Block Party

ORLANDO - Just when WWE’s “WrestleMania Rocks the Block” party looked as if it couldn’t possibly get any more frenzied, it most definitely did.

Hillbilly Jim, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Jimmy Hart and “Mean Gene” Okerlund (pictured above) had energized the more than 2,000 fans who packed Downtown Orlando’s Wall Street Thursday night. The fab foursome belted out classics such as “I’m a Believer,” “Don’t Go Messin’ With a Country Boy,” and “Bad News” when the already-keyed up crowd spotted six more Superstars who decided to join the party.

Divas Melina, Jillian and Lena Yada, accompanied by Brian Kendrick, Paul London and Jimmy Wang Yang, snapped photos with fans, and autographed everything from scrapbooks and T-shirts to baseball caps and folding metal chairs.

“It’s pretty incredible for so many fans to be here for us,” said an overwhelmed Melina. “They’re giving us a lot of love for what we do, and I really appreciate them for that. I feed off the fans' energy, so the more they want, the more I want to give them.”

That enormous well of energy began to overflow in the early evening hours, when WWE set up booths along the street that included free spray-on tattoos, “in-ring" photos and a basketball shooting cage.

“When we heard about [the block party] and getting a chance to meet the Superstars, we couldn’t pass that up,” said Keith McCarthy, who traveled from Seminole, Fla., with his two sons, Robert and Eric, and his wife, Donna. “We’ve waited years for WrestleMania to come here, and we’re so happy that it did.”

That feeling was no doubt shared by the battery of fans, many who traveled from far and wide to soak in the party atmosphere.

“I came to see the wrestlers, the WrestleMania fans, the WWE legends and just to be here,” said Jancarlos Rodriguez, who traveled from New York City with his grandfather, Marcos, himself a longtime fan, to catch WrestleMania XXIV in person.

While the fans were clearly having a blast, they weren’t the only ones.

“If I were feeling any better tonight, I think I’d being doing time someplace,” said Okerlund in his distinct baritone. “WrestleMania is such a special time of year, and this year is no exception.”

It appeared clear that the gorgeous weather, the fan goodwill and the incredible vibe Orlando was offering up had won the hearts of all the Superstars.

“What’s not to love about Orlando?” chimed in Kendrick, who had lived in O-town for a few years before heading west to California. “I love the people, I love the food, I love everything about it here.”

At no time moreso than during WWE’s “WrestleMania Rocks the Block” party. As the crowd continued to mingle and the Superstars signed autographs deep into the night, Hillbilly Jim strapped on an acoustic guitar and offered fans one more reason to stick around.

“If you guys keep this up,” he shouted, “we’re gonna have to hold WrestleMania in Orlando every year!”

Side Note: I love, love, love Mel's new blue highlights! And I posted the photos in Signings photo section.

March 28,2008 - 11 Questions With AskMen.com

In keeping with the avalanche of interviews Melina’s being doing lately, here’s another where she answers 11 questions with AskMen.com. It’s accompanied by 2 new photos from the “Ready to Rumble photoshoot.

Q-1: What would people be surprised to know about World Wrestling Entertainment?
That we’re not always angry! We’re not always like that. We are normal people. So, many of us are friends outside of the ring. Jillian Hall is my friend inside and outside the ring.

Q-2: How did you come up with your signature “splits” entrance?
Johnny Nitro [John Randall Hennigan], my boyfriend at the time, and I debuted together, and at our training camp he suggested we come up with a sexy entrance. I thought “how about this” and I just did it — I never thought that me doing the splits would be a part of wrestling.

Q-3: Your wrestling name is “Diva Melina.” What is your definition of a diva?
There are so many different types of “divas” in wrestling. I consider myself to be the truest of the divas because I’m strong, independent and I don’t care what people think. I’m not going to hold myself back and change who I am to please anyone else. I’m proud of who I am.

Q-4: Is there anything career-wise that is off limits?
I’m sensual but I’m not going to do things that are blatant sex. I’ll never say never, but at this point I wouldn’t pose nude. I want people to see me for my abilities and talents. When I do have a man, that will be the only person that I want to see me nude. That’s my gift to him.

Q-5: What do you think of mixed martial arts? Are you a fan of the UFC?
I’m a fan of anything physical. My dad was a boxer so he always had Saturday night parties, but now, with my busy schedule, I can’t follow boxing like I used to. I like watching it but I’m so busy I usually get DVDs after the fact.

Q-6: What’s your workout regimen? Do you follow a special diet?
On the road it’s hard to follow things, but I do count my calories and I have a certain intake. I eat foods with a lot of protein, but also with carbohydrates. I love to run so I need my carbs. Basically, I try to eat as “cleanly” as I can. I love food and sampling food from all around the world. I really care about my athletics.

I also try to workout as much as I can. I worry about strength and flexibility.

Q-7: How often do you work out?
It varies — at least five or sometimes seven days a week. I always switch it up too — I do 30 minutes to an hour of cardio, I do weights two times a week (upper and lower) and I do aerial silk training.

Q-8: What’s aerial silk training?
It’s like what the Cirque du Soleil people do. I’m a huge fan of Cirque and I love watching aerial silk. I saw a show, found some classes and now I’m hooked. I wanted to do it for the longest time. I also take belly dancing classes. I love it.

Q-9: Are you single? What’s the one quality you look for in a man?
Yes, I’m single. I don’t look for just one thing but a combination of things: a sense of humor because I laugh at everything. If things go wrong you can get upset but, really, what can you do? I start laughing; I laugh things off.

Trust is also a big issue. A guy can be jealous but not insanely jealous because I work around a bunch of guys. These guys are my brothers. Anyone I date has to have an understanding that I work a lot. It’s not against him, and he has to understand I wish I could spend more time with him.

Q-10: Where should a guy take a woman on a first date?
Ooh, I’m torn on that one. Back in the day, I’d be like, “Romance me,” but now I want to hang out with someone. It doesn’t have to be too ritzy… just a place where I can get to know you.

Q-11: Who’s your ultimate man’s man?
They’re all metro[sexual] now… I’m totally stumped on that one. My question is: What happened to the manly man?

March 28, 2008 - 6th Annual THQ Superstar Challenge

I have posted a new photo section called Candids that will have liveshow fan taken photos, houseshows, with fans, ect. in it.

I posted the 2 photos I've found of Melina from the THQ Challenge there. Check them out because she looks beautiful!

March 26, 2008 - CollegeHumor.com Interview

Hey, you know that program you watch on the scrambled HBO channel when you go to your parents’ house for the weekend? The one with the scantily clad, sweaty people rubbing themselves all over each other. No, the other one. The one that can sell action figures. To kids. OK, the WWE. I sat down with WWE Superstar Melina and talked about rabbits, broken bones, and how similar your family is to behemoths dealing near-lethal blows to each other on a canvas square.

What’s the worst wrestling-related injury you’ve ever sustained/inflicted?
Well, thank god I haven’t inflicted any kind of injury to anybody, that would sit on my conscience forever! While I was training, the worst that happened was I broke my hand. I went for a drop down and my hand bent backwards right in the middle. That was the only bad injury I’ve had under contract with the WWE. But 8 years ago in my first match ever, I had a partner and we did a tag move. He landed me and I went sideways on my knee and dislocated my kneecap. That hurt.

Of all your wrestling moves, what’s your favorite one?
Of course my finisher! I’m still trying to think of the perfect name for it because to me, my finisher is different, it’s my own. So that’s my favorite, because it shows not only that its impactful, but its trademarked to me, because I do the splits!

What’s the most insane fan encounter you’ve ever had?
Well, nothing to crazy-crazy, but a guy came up and said he was a big fan and just did a split right in front of me! And two people wanted me to autograph their arms, and then they went and tattooed it. That’s the only two really different things that have happened.

So you’re fighting in the BunnyMania Match in the upcoming Wrestlemania, and you’re not a big fan of Playboy. So you’ll fight bunnies, but you won’t pose as one. What do you have against rabbits?
OK, I love rabbits. Rabbits that are useful, you know? Like the Energizer bunny and the Easter bunny. Playboy bunnies- I guess they serve a purpose, but when it comes to wrestling, what does Playboy have to do with anything? A match is a match, and I shouldn’t be judged for my choices, whether I want to show my “goods” or not. The whole point of last years’ WrestleMania was “Hey! I’m women’s champion! Give me credit for what I did in the ring!” Why is the focus on Ashley being naked? What did she do? Did she have to train for that? No! It took me 8 years to be able to do what I do, and no one has given me credit for that! Come on.

Let me give you a hypothetical situation: You and Hugh Hefner are locked in a windowless, soundproof room with no cameras or sound recording devices. No one will ever find out what happens in that room. Do you talk to him and try to show him the error of his womanizing ways, or beat the living snot out of him?
That all depends on how he acts. If he pisses me off or says the wrong thing, of course I’ll beat the crap out of him. But if he’s nice and decent, and willing to listen, then I’ll totally talk to him and try to convince him about other avenues of life, other ways of looking at life. The least he can do is listen to me.

Do you think you could take any man in the WWE?
Well, physically, I don’t think I could take any man. But I am a woman, I have my ways. I think I could take some of them.

Could I take you?
What? No!

Do you ever get wedgies wearing those wrestling outfits? What do you do if you get a really bad one during a match?
Truth is, there’s nothing you really can do. Sometimes you’ll get a match with someone who keeps pulling at it, and you’re like “Dude! Just stop! Leave it alone!” You don’t have a choice, you just have to work with it. I’m not going to stop in the middle of hitting somebody and be like “Oh, I have to be comfortable.” I get hit in the face all the time, I’m always uncomfortable.

Excellent point.

March 26, 2008 - New Shoot: Boxing Diva

WWE.com have added a 12 Hot new Boxing themed photoshoot of Melina. It was taken in the spirit of the Maywether/Big Show matchup at Wrestlemania. She looks stunning! Definantly worth a look!

March 26, 2008 - RAW Rebound

JERRY LAWLER&MARIA&ASHLEY vs. SANTINO MARELLA&BETH PHOENIX&MELINA

They returned with Santino coming off the top rope, but Lawler blocked with a fist to the gut. Lawler then landed a dropkick as Ross got in a product placement for a Subway sandwich. Melina took a tag, but Lawler didn't have to tag out. Lawler measured Melina for a punch, but he opted to tag out to Ashley, who smacked Melina in the face. I don't get the outfit. Maria then took a tag and hit the Bronco Buster on Melina. Beth Phoenix took a tag and smashed Maria with a spinebuster in center ring. Santino took a tag and stalked Maria, but Maria smashed her with a slap to the face. Ashley landed a far-less-convincing slap. The divas took turns smacking Santino in the corner, then Santino fell to the outside and accepted right hand blows from Lawler. Suddenly, Beth and Melina chop blocked Maria from behind. Santino then rolled into the ring and found himself on top of Maria for the pin and the win.

WINNERS: Beth & Melina & Santino in 4:00. Just a match to promote BunnyMania - whatever that will entail with Candice's injury.
